Position Summary  


Under the direction of the Director of Patient Care, the Patient Care Manager is responsible for overseeing

Veterinary Assistants and Licensed Veterinary Technicians to ensure smooth workflow and to ensure our

standards of care are being met. In this position, a Patient Care manager will foster a positive work environment

by promoting teamwork and effective communication. The Patient Care Manager plays a crucial role in shaping

policies, promoting accountability, and driving improvements in patient care, client experience, and operational

efficiency.


 Essential Functions


  •  Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service at all times.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address personnel issues as they arise.
  • Ensure Compliance with Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participate in continuing education in a managerial capacity.
  • Participate in continuing education and stay up to date with advancements in veterinary medicine (applicable to LVT’s).
  • Involved with timecard approvals and time off requests.
  • Manages and oversees the schedules of their direct reports.
  • Provides leadership and support to existing and future managers, supervisors and other team members.
  • Participate in the interview process for hiring new staff.
  • Assess hospital status and adjust as needed.
  • Participate and conduct Patient Care Department Meetings.
  • Resolve patient care concerns promptly.
  • Participate in disciplinary discussions or processes as needed.
  • Ability to perform all duties of a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant.
  • Work alongside the Hospital Administrator, Client Service Manager or Director of Patient Care to resolve client concerns.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by Hospital Administrator or Director of Patient Care.

Education and Experience


  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant
  • Minimum of 2 years in a manager or supervisor role in Veterinary Medicine.
  • Full-time (40 hours per week) days (schedule is subject to change based on the needs of the hospital/departments).
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and veterinary software.
  • Compassion and empathy for patients and clients.
  • Participation in manager on call rotation.
  • Participation in managerial meetings.
